Max DeLauney Family Retreat Scholarship Fund

Max DeLauney

Max (3/29/2009 – 4/11-2017) & Miles came home, from China, to Kristen & Bryan in November 2015. Max was Deaf and had multiple Congenital Heart Defects (CHD). Miles was Deaf and Autistic. Max was with his family for 17 months and the impact he had on them and all who met him was inspiring. His smile and zest for life were both infectious. Maximilian Baohu Shen DeLauney was loved, cherished, adored and is sorely missed. In the span of 7 months, Max had three open-heart surgeries, among other procedures. Through it all, his smile continued.

The Max DeLauney Family Retreat Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 to keep the precious memory of Max living on by helping raise awareness and support for families who have adopted Deaf children and for the Deaf volunteers that attend our SFH ASL-Immersion Family Retreat each year.
