Our Beliefs

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God;
(Deuteronomy 6:4-6; Proverbs 30:5-6; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25)

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
(Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-51; John 10:30)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory;
(Mark 14:61; Luke 3:22; John 8:58; Colossians 2:8-9; Philippians 2:5-11 and Acts 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:12-32; Hebrews 4:14-16 and Matthew 24:42-44; John 14:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Hebrews 9:28; 2 Peter 3:10)

We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ is absolutely essential. (Genesis 1:26-27, 8:21; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:20; Colossians 3:6-10; Ephesians 2:2-3)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life;(1 Thessalonians 4:3-9; 1 Peter 15-16; 1 Corinthians 6:9-13; Ephesians 5:4-5)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are saved to life eternal with Jesus and those who are lost to life eternal separated from Jesus;
(John 1:12-14, 3:3, 5:24, 14:6; Galatians 4:4-7; Ephesians 2:8-10)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Chris (1 Corinthians 1:10; Ephesians 4:11-13; Colossians 3:13-14; 1 Peter 3:8; Galatians 3:26-28)

We believe sign language learning is paramount for Deaf children, and as early as possible.

We believe, just as strongly, parents and family members and/or caregivers of Deaf children, around the world, should be granted the opportunity to learn sign language. Sign language learning increases the opportunity for deep communication and building securely attached relationships with others.

We believe, hearing families seeking to adopt deaf/HOH children should be committed to and already learning American Sign Language prior to being “matched” for adoption. TBRI® (Trust-based Relational Intervention®) learning must be completed, pre-adoption and post-adoption.

We believe Deaf parents, fluent in ASL and trained in TBRI® should be given equal opportunities to adopt Deaf/HOH children.

We believe, becoming a Trauma-Informed Organization (TBRI®), Signs for Hope will be best prepared to do life with others in secure attachments and be able to equip those we serve to do the same to reach the heart of every Deaf child who comes from “hard places”, and all others.
